Smart edge detection powered by Apple Vision, 8 image filters (Scanned Grey, Scanned Color, Original, Enhanced, B&W, Grayscale, Bright, Magic Color), multi-page PDF with drag-and-drop reordering, on-device OCR text extraction, flexible export (PDF, JPG, PNG, plain text), password-protected encrypted PDF, folders for organization, photo library import for existing pictures, and a dark-mode interface localized in English, Turkish, German, Russian, and Simplified Chinese.
Privacy Policy
ScanDoc does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app has no backend, no analytics, no trackers, no advertising SDKs, and no user accounts. Everything you scan stays on your device.
01What we collect
Nothing. We do not operate any server that receives data from the app. We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising services. There is no way for us to see what you scan, what filters you apply, what text you extract, or what you export.
02What stays on your device
Scanned documents (PDFs, images), OCR-extracted text, folder structure, and app preferences are all stored locally inside the app's sandbox. They never leave your device unless you explicitly share or export them through the system share sheet.
- Documents are saved as standard PDFs inside the app's private container
- Optional password-protected PDFs use
AESencryption as defined by the PDF specification - OCR runs locally using Apple Vision — no text is sent off-device
- Image processing (edge detection, filters) runs locally using Apple Vision and Core Image
03Network connections
ScanDoc makes no network connections. There is no cloud sync, no remote storage, no analytics ping, no license check. The app works fully offline. When you choose to share or export a document, the destination app (Mail, Messages, iCloud Drive, Files, etc.) is responsible for whatever happens next — ScanDoc hands the file over and steps out.
04Permissions
- Camera — required to scan documents. The system prompts on first use. Frames are processed on-device and never leave the app.
- Photos — only if you pick an image from your photo library as a scan source. Read-only, on request.
- Files — only when you export a PDF or import a file through the system document picker.
- Local Network — not used.
- Location — not used.
- Contacts, Calendar, Health, Microphone, etc. — not used.
05Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age.
06Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with a new effective date. Material changes will also be communicated through the App Store release notes.
